As long as the "me" believes it has a part to play in its own ending, the illusion simply continues. Every effort to get rid of the “me” is just another act of the “me”—the illusion trying to erase itself, yet always ending up as the one still striving. No matter how sincerely this project is pursued, the seeker remains at the center of every attempt. The one hoping to disappear only reinforces its own presence. The vanishing of the "me" is never an achievement, because it is impossible for an illusion to step outside itself to bring about its own end.
