Liberation is often regarded as the highest achievement—something that would completely transform the life of the one who attains it. This gives it a sense of meaning and importance. Yet that importance depends entirely on the illusion that there is someone to receive it. Without that illusion, liberation has no relevance at all. There is no one to be freed and no one to know freedom. The value placed on liberation belongs only to the dream of “me.” Without that dream, it has no consequence, because there is no one for whom it could apply.
